Feeling Like Gold
Hello! I absolutely love how when the weather starts to get bitter and the night comes sooner, the stores all welcome stacks of gorgeous sequined blouses and start to fill their hangers with the most glamorous glittery gowns. It's the perfect antidote to a time of year that could be so dreary, and a great time to pick out a pretty little number to ring in the new year with. I always emphasize caution, moderation, and muted colors when picking out something sparkly, as it's easy to go wrong and end up looking tacky. Here are my suggestions:

Falling For Fair Isle
I might be alone in this, but can you think of anything more perfect than cuddling up under some blankets sporting a big Fair Isle sweater and leggings, sipping some hot English Breakfast Tea, and watching a period film? Because I honestly can't, especially given the chilly turn the temperatures here have taken in the past week. Fair Isle just oozes cozy, fall warmth, whilst also seeming effortlessly classic.

My October Favorites
I can't even believe it's already almost the end of October. Seriously, where has fall gone? Because by the time we're two weeks into November here in Iowa, winter will be in full swing! I don't think I'm ready for that. Anyway, October's been a lot of fun so far, and here are some of my favorites from it:
Lana Del Rey | Don't judge if you're not a fan, haha! My good friend Emma made me listen to National Anthem, and I was hooked. Let's just pretend her SNL performance didn't happen, okay?
Hunter wellies | My mom and dad decided I needed a pair after some horrendous weather at my regattas last weekend! I ended up picking the red yesterday, because it's neutral enough to go with several colors, yet still adds a little pop to a dreary rainy day!
Chapstick | My lips always get so chapped during this time of year! Seriously, I have like 7 different chapsticks strategically placed for use throughout the day (i.e. car, locker, bedside table, crew bag). My favorites actually this random "Techniq" brand I found at the drugstore, but my EOS is a close second!
Fall crew season | I went to back to back regattas last weekend, and despite the awful conditions, had a blast! I absolutely love fall season, and have done pretty well so far! If any one's going to Head of the Charles this weekend, I am incredibly jealous! :)
Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate | You thought I was going to say Pumpkin Spice Lattes, didn't you? Well, as much as I love those, caffeine's been hurting my stomach lately, so these are my fall treat to indulge in at Starbucks! Seriously, so yummy...try it if you haven't already!

Tortoise Time
Hey, everyone! I personally think it's a classic, but one trend that's taken off that I happen to love is tortoise! And I'm completely embracing it. It's got such a classic, not trying too hard vibe that it was really impossible for me not to fall in love. It all started with my glasses. Now before these, I was never someone who really wore my glasses. But I love them so much I can't help but sport them at least once a week now!
Following that, I sort of developed an affinity for tortoise shell headbands. They really pull together a look and keep it simple!
